PEACE OF MIND COVERAGE

You may request to receive quotations for any of the following covers:

Hull and Machinery/IV
Covers the cost of repairing damage to the ship or financial compensation equivalent to its value in the event of her total loss, arising from specified insured maritime perils set out in the policy. Such cover may extend to cover liabilities for collisions and damage to fixed and floating objects.

War Risks
Covers loss of or damage to a vessel, including capture and seizure and/or blocking and trapping, as a result of war or war-like operations and similar political risks, which are excluded under ordinary hull and machinery.

Protection and Indemnity
This covers third party liabilities and the PandI clubs for many of the ship owner's liabilities arising out of the operation of the vessel and resulting in damages and/or losses. These include such things as cargo claims, injury, sickness or death to crewmembers, injury to passengers, stevedores or others, fines and expenses incurred due to oil pollution, customs fines, collisions, contacts with fixed and floating objects, etc.

Freight Demurrage & Defense
This is legal aid insurance, frequently but not always provided by the PandI insurer, to financially assist the owners with the costs in connection with legal disputes, where the claim itself is commercial in nature and/or may not be covered by Insurance, possibly by virtue of deductible. This cover does not compensate owners in respect of the principal sum in dispute, but only the reasonable costs in defending such contractual and tortuous disputes or pursuing such claims.

Loss of Hire/Loss of Earnings
Covers the time lost normally at a fixed and agreed sum per day due to the vessel being completely or partly deprived of her ability to earn hire/freight due to a peril insured under the Hull and Machinery cover.
